Antonello Messina is a talented Swiss artist whose works have been exhibited in Switzerland, Japan and the United States. From moving drawn portraits to striking abstracts to immersive figurative landscapes, still lifes and nudes, he promotes the value of beauty in all its forms with technical precision and evident passion.
Painting needs knowledge, study, intelligence and a soul. Without these elements there is no art, and the artist does not exist.
Past Exhibition: Schadau Thun Castle (2019)
Like many famous artists before him, Antonello has come to know and love the area around Lake Thun. Fascinated by the liveliness of the water, the imposing mountain scenery, and the powerful historical buildings, he has had the possibility to do much of his work outdoors. Like a language long forgotten in the modern world of art, his works, in quiet and harmonious colours, bear witness to the uniqueness, beauty and grandeur of the local landscape. A number of paintings have originated from his work, which the artist was happy to make accessible to a wide public.
A permanent collection of works is exhibited in his gallery in Fribourg (Switzerland). You can visit every day or make an appointment, and you will be able to see his works first hand: le visage des Bolzes, landscapes, nude portraits, abstract works and still lifes.
Next Exhibition: December 16th 2021 / January 7th 2022 - Espace 25 - Fribourg (Switzerland). After his successful exhibition in 2018, once again Antonello will be working and exhibit his paintings at Espace 25. All art lovers will have a chance to stop by and witness the making of a work of visual art.
